Resumes

Hi everyone,
Remember that Sarah said you can take your Resumes to Barbara today for her to look at. This is a very good idea!! That way, you can have a really nice one to take to the job fair on Friday.

Even if you aren’t graduating this quarter or next quarter, you should still take a resume. Some places will hire you if you are still in school.
Good luck!! Email me if you need help or have any questions.

Sarah is posting her PowerPoints and assignments, so I will not be posting them here. However, I will post any notes that I think will help you.

Some notes from class on Friday 4/4/08

Today we talked about Chapter One: Making a Commitment to Your Job. The videos demonstrated different areas of working in the Medical Office, such as:

  • being attentive (paying attention to the patients)
  • knowing your job (know what you are expected to do, and how to do it)
  • committing to your job (respect the company you work for; you are a part of a team)
  • maintaining confidentiality (don’t share private information)
  • complying with legal standards (remember the laws! For example, don’t sign someone else’s name or use someone else’s password)

Here are some words that were used in class today:

diligent – someone who is diligent works hard and is careful and thorough

optimist – someone who believes that good things will happen.

optimistic – thinking that things will be better, easier, or more successful than is actually possible:

pessimist – someone who always expects that bad things will happen

pessimistic – expecting that bad things will happen in the future or that something will have a bad result

competence – the ability to do something well

Welcome!
